I thought I should give him his private space.
even thinking of it, turn me down.
anws yesterday babe decided to bring me out for a dinner date.
to a little garden party :))
first time wearing my plimsolls out , and it's just oh so comfortable.!
he planned for us to visit The fabulous baker boy down at the foothills.
the foothills- a previous swimming complex opposite Liang court.
heading back there brings back memories
of the days when I was just a child,
and the frequent hang outs at Liang court
when daddy was still working at Otani- currently Novotel Clarke quay.
alright, memories aside,
the fabulous baker boy starts off as an online cake shop before they branch our as a cafe.
on a Saturday evening,
the place was packed with youths celebrating birthdays,
girls night out and of course little couples like us.
the concept is similar to kilo,
but w more cafe food.
the menu is at the cashier and we have to order and pay up front first.
so babe and I ordered 2 of their ice tea, prawn salad,
a pasta, a cottage pie and chicken wings.
at 745, we were told that we are in for a good wait of 45 minutes.
so, 45 minutes pass us by and no food arrived.
the waitress then offered to serve us tomato soup and truffle fries on the house, and of course we gladly partake.:))
I was REALLLY impressed with the tomato soup, even babe love it, considering that he doesn't like the taste of tomato sauce much.
it was just really tangy - somewhat like a pasta sauce. in e end, we dipped our fries in it:)
I absolutely love the pie , because it has chunks of potato inside. while it's moist enough, the taste still pale in comparison to HY California.BUT.. the serving is definitely much bigger:)
the last dish we had was the balik kampung chicken wings. it's not your usual deep fried chicken wings.
the wings is coated with the spice powder characteristic of Malay chicken wings:)
we couldn't finish the food, but we still had room for desserts!
decided to get a red velvet cake and it's really really good!!!
I expected it to be like artificial, and hard and you know fake.
but the cake is surprisingly moist, soft and rich in flavor and it's a REALLY huge slice.
we met up w e boss, who decided to yet again make it on the house!!!
babe and I calculated and figure that we had almost $30 extra worth of food.
I'm definitely looking forward to visiting the place again for brunch and MORE CAKES.
I think I might have just discover my favorite place for English cakes :)
