darkness

Darkness,
is when you shut your eyes and you find peace.
Darkness,
is when you close your heart to find stability.
It is also the depths that you wish you never fall into.
the endless void of love, deception, expectations and desires.

As you desperately search for a way out,
clawing futilely at the edge of the abyss.
yearning for the simplicity of that light above you.

you lamented that
all you wanted was happiness, to bathe in the sea of calm.
all you wanted was sincerity - the way you treated everyone.

yet,
do you not realize that all that you wanted,
what you wanted
is really not what everyone else is obligated to give.

just close your eyes.
shut your heart.
in that world,
of only voices,
why not just retreat and quit fighting.

and maybe,
light will come forth to you
who say darkness is cold, but you?

and in your world of darkness,
you can sense that warmth.
