Alrighty, this is going to be a photo heavy post. The boy has finally uploaded all the photos for last weekend. They were really beautiful and while I ought to be doing work. I can't help but run a post on last week.
I feel I should just tell the story with pictures right?
Alright. So we are back at ascott after 6 months. The very beautiful place that felt instantly like home
We had a kitchenette that is fully equipped. I can cook, bake and sip tea here. You name it they have it, and the best part? They have a coffee maker! I can't wait to own one of those. Oh and you need not worry about the smell getting into your bed room. There's a door ( shown in my previous post) separating the kitchen from the main bed room.
and I really adore the washing machine cum dryer and the dishwasher that really came in handy this time around! The bathroom is really well equipped, bath tub and all, plus they provide loccitane brand of toiletries. thumbs up :) The nice people over at Ascott Singapore also gave us one of the few room with the balcony in the building. We had an amazing view of the marina. Babe and I like to think that they took into consideration that it was Babe's birthday and they extended our check out time too:)
very very nice people at Ascott Residences.
The birthday dinner this year was held at Kilo.
I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for his birthday and it was already fully booked! But Sharon was really kind about it, and managed to place us in, with an amazing view. The best part?
She allowed me to pre-order the dishes in advance as part of his surprise and while I requested for that little lava cake with the candle on it. She gamely put it on the house for us. It was just so heartening. :):)

and these are what we have!
basically Kilo serves a fusion of jap and french. ( something we both love) and while I was skeptical about trying their sashimi, it turned out pretty awesome! :

Salmon maki with fried chicken skin

12 hour pork belly with jap sweet potato as mash. Really awesome. I love it so much!

Tuna tartare with a hint of wasabi and avocado. While I am definitely not a wasabi nor avocado fan, the combination was PERFECT when accompanied on the flour chips.

High Society
We headed over to High Society at MBS, after our crazy run on the fields. Quenched our thirst on sangria and a very unsatisfying truffle fries. We both think we can do a better job.

My naked chef
and so, we headed back to the room, showered and start cooking our supper!
omelete and mushroom soup. and no, we did not use campell, we cooked the soup from scratch!
and if you are starting to think awry, my boy is wearing shorts under that bathrobe!
09092012. We ended our morning trying to fly our kite amongst the skyscrapers. Now,ain't this photo adorable? I can't stop grinning as I looked on.
We flew our kite that day honey, it's so crazily funny.
