Read till the end..

It's 1 pm and I've just finished lunch.

Babe is over at CCK with his girls for competition,

and I am starting to feel kinda woozy.

Worked for 12 hours almost everyday for the past 6 days and what have I acccomplished? I can't really remember.
time pass so fast, everything is a blur.

Still, despite all the uncertainties and trepidation, a part of me, feel good to be back.

On the Friday that ended at 5-ish,
the boy came to pick me up and we decided that even though we had to head back to work the next morning, we ought to give ourselves a little pampering.
Or rather, he picked it for me.

So, he made a reservation and down we went to Hanashizuku down at Cuppage Plaza.
I was anticipating a cozy, loud and casual Japanese dining similar to that of Shinjuku which has since relocated to cuppage plaza from hotel grand central.
Instead, what greeted us was a quaint, elegant interior that sits about 30.
Helmed by a japanese chef, the place was filled with expats. Babe and I are easily the only 2 singaporeans inside the shop.

We ordered like 5 dishes,
and while I did not take pictures of all of them,
here is a shot of my one of my favorite!

Fish cake with roe. It's meant to be mentai, but I tell you, this is not the creamy, salty mentai we are used to at the mainstream Jap place, but pure , natural and sweet roe that I can't get enough of!

We also had like a sushi platter, consisting of salmon, tuna, yellow tail, snapper and SWORD FISH. I know jean mentioned once that Sword Fish is like the best sashimi that one should eat, but upon my 2nd visit to SUN w MOON, babe and I were sorely disappointed with the blandness and the lack of Q-ness.
BUT,
Hanashizuku totally changed our opinion about it. The Swordfish is out of the world sweet, fat and chewy!
It's akin to having butter melted in my mouth. - pretty similar to the after taste of pan-fried foie gras, if you get my drift :)

** Saturday**
Fast Forward to Saturday,
and we are both up at 6 am.
He for his cross country and me, for the annual coy event.
Another 12 hour- long day for me , and the boy came down to meet my colleagues.

My man who came in 3rd in his event. :):) so proud!!

We headed back home, before heading down to town to meet Regina in order to get my "lovenote" from ming.
I was craving for like a lot of vege, and we decided to dine over at Cine-Cafe - By les - amis.
Honestly, I was quite surprised that Cine-cafe belonged to the les-amis group,
but to give it credit, the pizza place outside the Cafe, serves really reasonable and absolutely delish thin-crust italian pizza.
A quick check on les-amis website establish a few popular dining outlet
Honey? Maybe we can visit Cepage when we pop by Hongkong in June? :)

We had.. a Casear Sald, Chix, Seafood Marinara and their signature XO-lao shu fen, or what is known to us cantonese - bei tai mak!

Babe did the ordering, and got me this :

Goreng Pisang with Vanilla Ice-Cream! YUMS!

All these for only $47.50. So..not a bad place for an affordable date!

We then went to catch Lincoln. I not sure if many heard of it, but its a film by Speilgberg and to give it its credit, I feel it has a lot of educational value.

I don't know if you still remember from my earlier posts
that one of my favorite place when I visited Washington,
it was Lincoln memorial.
I just love that place. Essentially it is just a giant hall way with Lincoln in it,
and his famous speech.
But there is just something liberating about that beautiful place,
It's like freedom and equality was once fought hard by this towering figure.
I'm just a sucker for people who stand firm and  fought hard for their believes.

That's us yesterday at Cine-cafe. Me looking tired :)

[ In short, I had a lovely weekend,
because on my long days,
my boy will travel to pick me up.
We would celebrate our long weeks, our hard work, our frustrations.
He would hold my hands on days that I need support,
Cup my face in his hands when I'm uncertain about capability.

He would always tell me how awesome I am,
How while I can do better, I've already been the best.

And right now, I am waiting for him to come home,
and together we'll go and celebrate wayne's birthday with the family.

Here's a song to the girl who is fighting so hard to find hope.
An old song stretching back to when I was 12.

Babe,
Don't make the same mistake again.
It's not always your fault,
It doesn't have to be that way.

Walk away strong,
because you  deserve all the reasons to be an independent woman,
strutting your stuff,
and the world is in your hands.
Clutch your heart, honor it and work the boys.
