Les Miserables.

I have just finished doing my nails for NYE,
I think I will leave the packing for tomorrow night till tomorrow morning.

Right now? I am listening to I Dreamed a Dream, a song made popular in the musical Les Miserables.
I first come across this musical when I was much younger,
in primary , if not lower secondary school,
when my Teacher taught me the right pronunciation of this word.
Les ( Lea ) Miserables ( Miserab)
It's french.

Pursuing the module on french  was an eye opener,
to the movies, the history and of course their language.
I won't say I fancy the french for their pride,
but at least they taught me the art of carrying oneself with dignity.
Acing a language mod in school isn't difficult is it,
what's more crucial is the ability to master it.

Maybe I should reconnect with this language,
right now,
Je ne comprend pas
Je ne sais pas
Je ne parle pas

everything i remember of french is : I don't understand, I don't know, I don't speak.
lol time to turn the negative to positive.
Anyways,
I finally caught the movie last night with honey,
and despite the unusualness of having russell crowe and hugh jackman communicating via singing,
i thought it was beautiful and refreshing,
having watched a couple of musicals,
one will know that it is not easy to couple the changes of scenes along with the singing
and that can be done with sophistication in movies, given the technology and all.

when the misses in the sing are evident, the emotion outplay via the changing scenes made up for most of those parts.
At the end of the movie, the audience gave an ovation as a salute to this beautiful show,
while I find comfort in knowing that the silly little man next to me that sniggled when hugh jackman was singing, find it within himself to not make a silly remark of that show.
otherwise, I would have given him a good step on his feet!

And so, I figure since its NYE , i probably should do reflection post,
but since I have already gave my thanks during thanksgiving,
I should just keep it short and sweet.

t that I am thankful for everything that I have right now,
and I cherish every single one of them.

2012 has been a superb year for me.
Minus the obstacles a long the way ,
I think I have definitely learned a lesson or two.
that winning every battle that cross my path is not paramount,
what's more important is that every battle is fought valiantly
and that I try my best to maintain my graciousness and poised.

You earn no points for being the hussy.

Life is not a bed of roses,
and along the way
one need to sacrifice in order to receive love.
To love is to give.
If you can't learn to give,
how then can you expect to receive?

I pray that 2013 will be a year filled more with God's works and reasons,
and that the world will be a more forgiving place.
including myself.

On a more random note,
I somehow chanced upon this wedding blog,
and saw this really pretty trinklet from tiffany and co.
a wedding journal!
cool beans right?

I dream a dream. - I like this version on my mp3 better.  :)
