4 days of break. how did you spend it?
this year we didn manage to get any tickets to catch the show.
We watched the parade instead by the river,
and its still exhilarating watching the helicopter with our flag flew by.
not forgetting the fighter planes. :)
We had Mookata down at Tom Yum KungFu at Boat Quay.
we thought its pretty alright only.
Our first time having mookata.
Not sure if its meant to be that way,
but we thought the soup is a little too bland,
and there's this overpowering sesame oil marinate of the pork meat.
Service was pretty good though, despite the adverse comments online.
Dessert was at the magnum pop-up specialty store at Clarke Quay!
We made our own magnum. It has sun-flower seeds, almond nuts and very pretty gold flakes! a perfect sight after catching the pretty fireworks:))
We also had the chocolate fondant,
but it was only really passable.
We were too stuffed after that to do anything, and so we headed home.
We woke up the next day on the 10th,
and decided that we should go and try the famous 全记鸭饭 at Chong Pang.
to get us 2 plates of this:
mind you, by 12.30pm, all duck thighs were sold out.
and the queue just keep going.
I thought the rice was pretty well done,
the duck is nice..
the soup's good too!
but to me it wasn't like exceptional.
Maybe I ain't a big foodie, or know what's a good duck rice.
but I don really feel like i want to queue for this again.
Maybe I will, when I have great craving.!
but right now,
I think it's okay only lei. LOLL
