hidden gems 1 - BFF

Alright, so I have just finished planning by the boy's birthday!
While we have long decided that the evening will be back at Ascott for the night,
dinner will be decided by me ( naturally)

Gosh, it is really challenging, trying to decide on a venue for the dinner.
First, it is the choice of cuisine,
then the review,
and then the ambience.

Of course, it is really easier o head down to the more popular ( sic more expensive ) places.
Shinji, Forlino, Wakyu Ghin, Sky on 57 etc and pay for the experience.
or select one of the places located at dempsey.
But, I guess for some time now, ( maybe as we grew older),
we enjoy finding gems along silent streets,
under the shelter of shophouses and long shadows of the street lamps.
seemingly unassuming , but in reality, an unpolished piece of gem.

For the past few days, I have been searching n searching,
and it's really challenging for someone as impatient as me.
somewhere quirky and chill
unpretentious, comfortable
unique and one of a kind.
I think I might have found one (:

Anyways, last night, babe and I went down to dunman food centre for dinner,
wandered along the streets of joo chiat
and stumbled upon BFF.
Battered Fluffy Flaps.

A cozy little place that serves pancakes with free flow of maple syrup and butter!
and so, even after a sinful dinner of frog legs, hokkien mee and satay,
I made the boy stuff his face with pancakes!

For $11, we got ourselves 3 original pan cakes, an earl grey and iced tea.
I won't say it is ravishingly awesome ttm!
but it is definitely worth trying.

The interior is really sweet,
all decored in my current favorite pastel colors.
simple, neat and clean.
and they open till like 11-ish?

and the boy  had to play with photo collage app,
and made these :

so adorable.no?
