Of Scones. Fish and Roses.

It's sunday and I am suppose to be catching up on work. But somehow, since like 3 weeks back, I have become less uptight about wanting to complete everything and have been heading out almost every weekend.

Friday saw the conclusion of the last big event of the year.  A short hiatus of maybe 1 month before the next big thing. #SG50.

Roses from the people that made me work so hard.
I never knew roses are capable of blooming till this size! I always ask the boy to never buy me bouquetsbecause they are always so expensive and I don't really fancy baby breaths, they also appeared all capable of collecting dusts and I never really like roses because they are always so small. In fact, I always love Sunflowers and Daisies. - there's just something cheery about all the open petals. Instant happiness.

Hence imagine my happiness when I received 29 stalks of these beauty that i took the trouble to read up on how best to preserve them. Even mom exclaimed that it brightens up the house instantly.

Innit Bangkok
Recently, I have been having cravings for Scones, especially tasting them at the Rose Veranda. Jio-ed d one of the bestie down to Halia @ Raffles to have brunch.

It's really amusing, because the last time I was there there was the tea tower and so imagine my horror when we arrived at 12pm and there was no tea tower in sight! A checked with the friendly staff revealed that it was only after 2.30pm. So I said: Please please tell me there is scones available, I came here for the scones! and.. TADA, they granted me my very belated birthday wish:

It looks chao ta, but it is really very sweet and fluffy.
I'm so into scones that I even followed a insta account called sconemarkit. Maybe I should just place some orders with the girl.

It's been a long time since I last went out a girlfriend on a Saturday. Weekends are too precious to be spent hanging out, I could have catch up with a lot of work...  and actually that weekend I did! After brucnh, we went to Starbucks and continued with our individual work.

Anyways, I am feeling considerably happier this afternoon after all the happy food
So before I go and continue with my work, I must share this out of the world good Fish n Chips!

In the boy's words: This is how he would envision GR's F&C to be:

We ordered the king salmon and barrumundi cod. Both were so good! The meat were not overcooked, still fresh and all sweet and succulent. The batter is not oily at all. So, in case you are craving for Fish and Chips and do not want to overwhelmed and therefore swear off F&C for years, this is the absolute place to go!:
